Summary: a Finnish-language anarchist website published an interview with Ksusha, a member in the Solidarity Collectives network in Ukraine.
I found the interview informative of the situation they have, and wanted to share. However, Finnish is as good as encryption to most people, so I translated it to English.
Since I think Lemmy does not support posting long texts in post summaries or comments, I uploaded the translation to RiseUp Share.
I hope authors forgive that I’ve not contacted them to ask for permission, because I don’t have their contacts, although eventually I must find a way to contact Solidarity Collectives on another matter. The interview in Finnish was also published in the magazine “Kapinatyöläinen” (“rebel worker”), issue 61.
I remember some early reports about an anarchist “legion” that didn’t work out at all and this seems to confirm it. I can understand the reasons given and kudos to the people trying to stay in contact with those actively fighting and giving them extra support.
I would have liked to hear something about support given to people dodging the quasi-forced draft, but I guess that is too sensitive of a topic to talk about in an interview.
Yes, it’s probably one of those things which people don’t sign with their name and photo - it might burn some bridges and close possibilities for people working under the same label.
In general, it’s my impression that Ukrainian anarchists are materially supportive of like-minded soldiers and morally supportive of draft dodgers.

I heavily relate to the USSR trauma mentioned in the article and having to hide your political views by pushing forward your ideology without mentioning communism, capitalism, worker rights, etc.
