I wonder why they’re becoming popular. The party’s 2019 program introducrd the following points:

      • Free universal health care.
      • Free education including higher education.
      • Increasing the size and scope of disability benefits, maternity benefits and retirement pensions.
      • The creation of modernised collective farms to work alongside the private sector.
      • Active state intervention in the spheres of infrastructure, transport, energy, communications, housing, pharmaceuticals, etc.
      • The nationalization of foreign-owned energy companies.
      • A commitment to law and order including both reinstating the death penalty for particularly dangerous criminals and addressing the underlying socioeconomic issues that may cause crime.
      • A commitment to Moldovan independence and military neutrality.

Except they’re not popular, at least if their electoral showing means anything. They’re just noisy.

The Șor party got 5.75% of the vote in the last election. The Party of Action and Solidarity, a pro-Europe group, got a majority at 52%. Electoral Bloc of Communists and Socialists nabbed 27%. The rest of the vote was split among a bunch of much smaller parties. So there are the facts, Șor party is not popular.

Just because you can get a few thousand people together in one spot doesn’t mean they get to dictate policy. Protesting is important, but it should never turn into a minority veto. Otherwise Trump and Bolsonaro would still be presidents, and I shudder to think of that world.

Yeah, Communists got 27% despite rabid anti-communist propaganda that Moldova has been washed in for decades now. And now that it’s becoming clear that neoliberal policies the west champions are an utter failure more and more people are waking up to what’s been done to their country.

Meanwhile, it’s pretty much guaranteed that Trump or somebody like him will get into power in 2024. Democrats shat the bed with their proxy war, and people are waking up to the domestic economic impact from it now. Anybody who runs on anti war platform in the next election will win by a landslide.

Ah, right. When people agree with me, they are smart and see through the lies. When people disagree with me, they’ve given in to the capitalist propaganda.

You’re overestimating Trump’s appeal. He’s a loser, and a sore loser at that. The type of people that Trump appeals to don’t like a loser so much. There are of course no guarantees in elections, but the all important economy is humming along fairly nicely.

You really need to look at polls before you make claims. While support isn’t unanimous, it’s still holding strong a year in. Just because you think it’s a disaster does not make it one.

I love how you pretend to be unaware that US literally spends billions on propaganda around the world via shit like NED and USAID. It’s not even hidden. I personally saw this in action when I was growing up in Russia during the Yeltsin years. Either you’re horribly ignorant or just utterly dishonest. Yet, despite all the propaganda these ideas just keep coming back somehow. You’d think if they weren’t actually popular then capitalist pigs wouldn’t have to fight them so hard.

You’re overestimating Trump’s appeal. He’s a loser, and a sore loser at that. The type of people that Trump appeals to don’t like a loser so much. There are of course no guarantees in elections, but the all important economy is humming along fairly nicely.

You’re underestimating what an utter shit show the democratic party is. And if it won’t be Trump, then it’s going to be somebody like Trump. That’s the future of politics in your shithole country. Better start getting used to it. Meanwhile, the fact that you genuinely believe that US economy is humming along nicely is the height of comedy here.

You really need to look at polls before you make claims. While support isn’t unanimous, it’s still holding strong a year in. Just because you think it’s a disaster does not make it one.

No, I don’t need to look at polls two years before the election. What I’m going to look at are the declining material conditions and the economic disaster US is in a middle of. All of this will get far worse by 2024, and people will be much more angry than they are today. Even people such as yourself will have to reconcile that somehow.

Also, it’s pretty obvious that only 64% of people supporting the war already constitutes collapse in support given that it was nearly universal only a few months ago. As it becomes more and more obvious that there is no easy win, US public will increasingly reject this insanity. If you were historically literate then you’d see the parallels with Vietnam here.

Yeah, why can’t putin just help all humanity. If he jumped off the empire state building, I would gladly go on with my life and not even acknowledge the event. But I mean, he’s showing everyone how mighty he is and how Ukraine is now measurable in Russian soldiers per square meter. If he could just focus on things that were worth a darn like Jimmy Carter did, then everyone would love him. The way he’s going now, I feel more pitty for clean toilet paper than for him…for what’s going to happen to him a little later in this story. Hopefully everyone sees where he lands. If he wins, then great! Let’s all be slaves, that’s what he would love. If he loses, then great! More of us might get to be free. I’m going to go back to work and not think about the possibility of someone doing something to me for saying things. That’s the level of freedom we should all strive for. We also do like free healthcare, you guys could teach us all how that shit works.
