Nikon issued a service advisory/recall for the Nikon Z8 camera. The described problem is that a lens cannot be mounted on the camera because the lens cannot be rotated to the locked position.

Probably the mount wasn’t made or installed correctly on some of the cameras.
Which suggests if the tolerance was slightly better and it did fit, there may still be mount tolerance issues on these early bodies
