It’s actually more of we’ve probably passed it already. You only see how many people from the same instance subscribe to the communities you’re in. Not sure how to check the total (how many are subscribed from all instances) though.

The Law on Obligations and Contracts
      The Law on Income Taxation

I believe these two should be part of Gen. Ed. subjects in college. Mas may pakinabang sa ordinary people than science subjects (lalo na kung hindi naman science ang course mo).

Quite an old book, but The Broker by John Grisham is a novel I go back to from time to time. Everything was just very appealing to me: the pacing, the action, the details, the storytelling, the plotlines. It is not perfect, but it is good enough for me to get re-reading every now and then.

For a short story, it is The Bet by Anton Chekhov. This kinda solidified reading for me as a leisurely pursuit in my younger years, although R.L. Stine’s Goosebumps really got me into reading in my toddler-ish years.

For Non-Fiction, Victor Frankl’s Man’s Search for Meaning is a great read, as well as Atomic Habits by James Clear.

For something light and funny, I would recommend John Kennedy Toole’s A Confederacy of Dunces. Now, the humor is a hit or miss, but it is entertaining to read.

      F. Sionil Jose is a great local author I would want to recommend, as I am getting into reading Filipino Literature. I’ve only read one of the Rosales Saga series of novels, but I thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to reading the rest of the series. Though I am not sure about the reading order.

May you peacefully enjoy your reading time.

This is from r/OffMyChestPH pleading people not to post screenshots of their posts on their subreddit.

    Anon for a reason

It’s not anonymous, but rather, pseudonymous.

Fun Fact: Walang safe space sa public Internet.

If you overshare = you are doxxing yourself.

Once you post something on a public forum, regardless if it’s Facebook, Reddit, Lemmy, Mastodon, it’s outside of your control.

unless you have permission from the op, do not share it in other social media platforms especially fb that has the highest audience.

The average pinoy fb user does not give a f-ck/sh-t about copyright/DMCA, so these f.ckng CTTOs, PTPAs are very commonplace on FB.

Before even bringing up copyright/DMCA, be aware that there are sites (bulletproof hosting) hosted in countries with very loose copyright enforcement that ignore DMCA altogether.

Tip: Do not use your main account when venting about your problems (hence the name “offmychest”) or unloading your burdens online. Get something like a throwaway just for that.

To all workers (WFH’ers, digital nomads, normal workers, etc.), students, and anyone who really just wants to have a more chill study/work environment,

I’ve come across lofi.co, which has a free version, a paid ($2.99) version, which basically offers you more visual stuff to help calm you down.

If you’re tired of staring at Lo-Fi girl or Synthwave boy on Newpipe/Vanced and want a change of scenery, this is probably a good way to go. Try it free first, and I’d like also suggestions if anyone knows a few good sites/apps similar to this.

Have a chill evening mga Phlemmings, may we all find that sweet spot of chilness in our respective corners of the globe.

    EDIT: Link. Also thanks 8rhn6t6s!

EDIT 2: Apparently you can use playlists from spotify too and you can choose between Jazz, Chill or Sleep themed playlists. Sadly, sound effects are limited to around 3 or 4 with the free version.

Ang late night thoughts ko ay ang panget ko sa passport ko 🤦‍♀️ tapos yung camera pa nila pang dlsr pa pero auto pindot lang. Kinda seems like a waste for its usage, sana magandang quality webcam na lang gamit nila. Ang clunky at heavy pa just to mount it on the side of a wall. It looks out of place.

Malay ko ba Pilipinas. Parang pagod na rin ako, migrate na lang tayo. I’ve been learning german lately, might be useful in the future 🤷‍♀️

It’s a bad combination of using a camera lens with a wider focal length and the distance of the camera to the subject.

Ayun, I managed to have an even worse picture than my studio ID photo.

Ah, I was trying to say “Good morning to you too! It’s funny that despite us using different Visayan (langauges), we understand each other.”

And I am most certainly have made mistakes. I learned it while I was in Cebu City, where I stayed for a bit. No guarantee that I ever learned it at all tho.

Edit: In a funny way, I think I’ve been proven very much wrong.

This is also my take as well. Same reason why I also didn’t like Jolo’s portrayal in Plane. It’s not so much that it’s fiction, a joke, and all that — but perception is reality.

That said, hindi ko pa naman napanood yung movie and it’s unclear if those dashed lines are more like cartoony steps/directions. But if it’s true that those are indeed the nine-dash line, I can see why people would like it banned — although against ako sa censorship or banning and do not support it at all.

Wtf? Will the kids (probably the targeted audiences of this film) notice it? Even myself, di ko mapansin. Modern audiences are too woke when it comes to these minuscule movie details, like this one, tapos connect-to-dot agad sa reyalidad, like come on son!

I’m speculating this frame, or “that map” will not affect the whole film’s plot.

Sinabi ko from my previous message na kahit na Twitter is getting worse, it won’t make me return to FB. Then Meta re-announced Threads again. Ok, I’ll consider it.

If I can move from Reddit to Lemmy, I can do it again.

Some articles claim that they might support ActivityPub. Weird. But it could be a viable strategy to attract users from Mastodon or Misskey. Or it could be a way to reach the EU market as they seem to be having data privacy issues there.
