So I’m imagining it’s a toss up on whether or not players played through EA or not, and in my mind this would apply to Act I as well as beyond, but how does this community intend to deal with storyline spoilers? If markdown is implemented right,

! Then this should be a spoiler

but if the markdown method of right arrow (>) followed by an exclamation point (!) does not properly tag spoilers, do folks care enough? Maybe marking posts with story spoilers as nsfw?

I would like to suggest no spoilers for storyline in future post titles, and either having spoiler tags on comments or something along those lines. This all might be a non-issue for most community members, but I figure if there are people out there who want a spoiler free time while still being able to visit this community to talk about the game (people like myself).

What do y’all think? Regardless, I’m very excited to play through this new story! Happy Launch Day y’all!

    Anyone here want to be a mod? ;) I’m guessung we’re all going to be a bit busy the next few weeks, and I shouldn’t be the only one. I never thought this day would arrive when I set this thing up.

    Additionally it would be a great idea to put [SPOILER] in front of the title of a post if it includes spoilers for the game. Maybe the mod of this community can add some rules about the [SPOILER] tag to the sidebar?

      I think having some mod support on this front would be extremely valuable, even something as basic as a sidebar rule might help push future posts in the right direction on this. Not sure how heavy handed folks would want to get though, in regards to removing posts with spoilers or things like that.

      EDIT: dealing with Markdown spoiler formatting is truly a jungle right now. The top example above of >!Spoiler test!&lt; works only on Sync. The bottom example works only on Connect. The “proper” markdown of

      works only on browser.

      EDIT2: holy hell the single line formatting works on Connect but messes up the post on browser. This is madness.

        Seems to work fine for me on mobile using the memmy app. It’s rather confusing though since for whatever reason you need to have the word spoiler in all lower case after that first set of colons.

      Spoiler test 1 doesn’t work on any platform I’ve tried.

      Spoiler test 2 works on Sync, but not browser, Voyager or Connect.

        Nope, not on my end. I think we’re going to have to rely on post title formatting, a la [SPOILERS] myTitle.

      I think it works properly on Browser? So far though all apps I’ve tried have struggled with it, I think.

        Oh really? Personally I’ve never tried lemmy on a browser but it wouldn’t shock me if some features (like spoilers) were missing in the apps. Might have to start checking this community on my computer then if things get really spoiler-y lol

          Honestly, most users don’t seem to use markdown that much, so it wouldn’t surprise me if you’d get spoiled anyway, browser or not.

          It would be great if all apps could support full markdown, though. The spoiler formatting is much better than just writing SPOILER.

    I personally don’t mind spoilers, but I know there are others out there that don’t want them. I agree with you, keep spoilers out of the title and let people decide if they want to see it

      Yeah I know there are going to be a bunch of people who don’t mind at all so it would have to be a community effort to help out for those that do care hahah. Maybe something like in the title if you’re talking about storyline stuff we could put something like SPOILER - Insert Normal Title Here?

      Check out the docs I put at the bottom of the post curtesy of faethon! Seems to work for me both on desktop as well as memmy for ios.
