    Indeed. We don’t have such birds where I live, but recent travels to Scandinavia has introduced me to these very interesting corvidae. They’ve been lovely to see. Great photo!

    I’m from the US west and I have always loved these birds in particular. The local rural culture kind of hates them for some reason but I fell in love with them for their beauty. The flash of color and patterns when they take sudden flight is captivating.

      Well, they are egg thieves and omen birds (“One for sorrow, two for joy,…”) which probably doesn’t help their reputation!

    A couple started frequenting my feeder recently. They’re very skittish but it’s out of this world when the light hits just right and reveals the iridescent blue tail feathers. Beautiful birds.
