Denmark donates military equipment worth DKK 3.7 billion, including tanks, to Ukraine.

This is written by the Ministry of Defense in a press release.

The donation also includes infantry fighting vehicles, artillery ammunition, drones and small arms. The donation will help the Ukrainians in their war against Russia. The tanks are bought in the Czech Republic.

“I met with my Ukrainian colleague on Tuesday in Kyiv and was updated partly on the situation in Ukraine, partly on Ukraine’s needs in the fight against the Russian invasion”, says Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen (V) in the press release.

The donation is financed by the Ukraine Foundation, which was established with a broad majority in the Danish Parliament in March.

It appears from the government’s financial bill for 2024 that the Ukraine Fund has a total framework of DKK 34.4 billion for military support to Ukraine in the period 2023 to 2028.

“Today’s donation confirms that Ukraine can count on Denmark’s unwavering support in their fight for freedom”, says Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen (M) in the press release.

"This is support that is crucial for Ukraine to continue the fight. The donation also sends an important signal to both Ukraine and Russia that we do not lose focus, even though much of the world’s attention these days is directed at Israel and Palestine,’ says Løkke.
