Only if they’re actually using a valid methodology. You can pretty easily do things which move carbon up from deeper soils, and if you only sample the surface, you get bogus results
Can’t they use imagery? I’m assuming bare soil, or freshly ploughed, would be pretty easy to spot?
Not really. You need to actually sample what’s under the surface to make this reliable
