Hey, its nice that you make it explixitly that trans woman are women and the posts also seem trans friendly. Still, the name “twoxchromosomes” makes me feel uncomfortable, because the name is kinda trans exclusionary. Also you include trans men and nonbinary people in the community with this name, which would be assome, but they are no women, and then saying “all women included” but include them with said title feels weird. I understand the reasoning that you wanted to attract people from reddit, but now that you already have a lot of subscribers, would you mind changing the name to something more inclusive/broad? (Again, “womans” spaces exclude Nonbinary People, some of whom are read as women by society and many face similar issues as women, like negativity towards feminit and/or being able to get pregnant and/or others.)

This is just a copy and paste name from reddit, probably so it’s easy for people to move from there to here. I think it’s good to have the name the same to help get more active, as it’s a huge community on reddit.

I am not a mod and so have no power here, but there are also !women@lemmy.world and !feminism@beehaw.org.

This is tricky. The way we deal with this over at !mensliberation@lemmy.ca is to explicitly welcome all masc individuals in the sidebar. Definitely a bandaid, but that’s how it’s done over there.

      Thanks Ill check them out.

This community seems nice though, I just wanted to to make it more welcoming for my trans siblings.

It is tricky, no question. But the emphasis on chromosomes ist not great.
