…and the god damn trailer shows way too much of the game! Why do devs do this? It’s not making me want to buy the game more, on the opposite, I’m now considering whether it’s even worth it. If the devs really want to show off, they could just end the trailer with hinting that there’s more and leave it as mystery.

The whole point of exploration games is to find out stuff for yourself and be amazed about stuff you didn’t expect. If you show everything it just spoils the fun out of it.

I haven’t seen the trailer or played the game myself, but what if what you saw was a small fraction of the experience that is attainable? Wouldn’t that be amazing?

The trailer still has to have enough to get people interested, and if it’s well made with generous amounts of content it should still keep you amazed and interested.

Again, I don’t actually know, but it is on my radar and I have heard good things about this game, so I feel inclined towards the positive outlook in this circumstance.

I agree. When this happens, and it happens a lot (even with films) I get the feeling that I’ve already played the game and it’s not worth it. When they show too much it takes away the excitement of playing. I couldn’t agree more with your comment, I keep wondering if this type of trailer actually makes people want to play.

Currently doing my first play through. The story was spoiled for me but I have still found it enjoyable so far. That Said I am annoyed how hard it is to fix mistakes in raft builds. Next playthrough will most likely be molded in some way

Lol lots of mistakes early on.

Did you know Bruce won’t fuck with the iron reinforced planks and you can build an inverted pyramid so your base floor can be smaller than your upper deck?

One of my friends used that to build a USS Enterprise model without worrying so much about iron consumption.

While the story isn’t super long, what I viewed as the main point of the game was discovering how to build my perfect boat and explore islands. I’ve played through at least once on story mode and now I’ll hop in with some friends for a fun coop build and explore mode that is easily as fun if not a little more than soloing the story.

Granted, I wouldn’t mind a patch with more storyline or a mmo for community raft building but those can be in the future if at all.
