It’s nice to see more and more people taking action against car dominance in the UK, it feels like people are starting to take road safety more seriously after years of ignoring it.
Good for them. I would be out there with a home made spike strip
That council is a bunch of wankers. Imagine not doing your job, and then complaining when people get fed up and do it for you.
Maybe I should get some parents together and do this outside my kids’ school. There are very clear ‘No stopping’ yellow zigzags, but people still park up every day to drop off their kids. I’ve seen quite a few near misses as a result.
Perhaps it would be worth bringing up the issue with the school and the council first to see if anything can be done more legitimately.
If you’re not gonna have to law on your side, you better have the public. And being able to tell in detail how you tried doing everything the proper way and were left with no choice helps a ton.
Also you might actually be successful with legitmate means or at least build a profile for the cause that will be useful for mobilizing people if it comes to more…
Yeah, probably best to at least try and go legit, first!
Source?
There’s a link to a road.cc article. Perhaps your Lemmy frontend isn’t showing it properly? I can see it on Liftoff
In case you’re not just being facetious:

Thanks, I was using another client which didn’t show the link or I was just blind
