Started with a bundle from Crown Bees, and have really enjoyed watching them return to their tunnels with pollen and bits of leaves. That single house inspired me to convert a 300 square foot section of my lawn to locally-native flowering plants. I have a feeling this is a rolling conversion, and my property will look very different over the next few years.

Couldn’t be happier.

They’re little sticks that you place in some of the holes to help the bees figure out which spot is theirs. Since there are so many holes so close together, is kind of easy for the bees to get confused and frustrated to the point of leaving. They’re clever enough to know their hole is “two up from the green stick”, or “four to the right of yellow, but below the red.”
