Has something changed or do I need to do something besides turn off Federation?

Yes I’m experiencing the same, seeing lemmy and other communities even though federation is deactivated. I assume just another bug that will be sorted soon enough. That makes sense. But that also means we need to block some of the more spammy communities/magazines if we don’t want to see them.
