    I’d be very interested in a tiny turbine that gives off 500W per hour to cover the basic power consumption of the house when there is no sun shining. But most stuff I see is junk, and the other stuff is way too powerful for what I need.

    Good quality wind is high up.

    Installing a turbine on a house is technically problematic (a mast is simpler to deal with), it is hard to maintain there and can convey noise into the house.

    The advise about having a few acres of flat land as a minimum - it is sensible, unless other options beside wind cannot be chosen.

      The other good option would be community ownership of a larger turbine. This would get you the lower cost per kwh and better availability that those have
