Didn’t end up going out, because we couldn’t be bothered braving the cold to go to Footscray haha. Stayed in, about to crack another bottle of wine, and listening to my everthing playlist. The cat is warm and lovely, very pleased we stayed home. He’s so chatty, yelled at me to pick him up and just hold him.

I don’t mind showing my face, (image description: tabby/white cat lying on my face - dont mind my kitchen behind me)

      Aww what a cute cat.

I really miss having cats around to cuddle up to. They are the best thing ever and so soothing.

As he has aged, he’s gotten more snuggley. I try to play with him, his toys, etc, but he just wants to be held, and for me to shut up. If I’m talking while he’s on me, he gets pissy lol.

Such a great song!! It’s such a banger!!

I’ve been yelling along to Heart it Races lol - I wish they were still together making music, one of my fav aussie bands

Seagoon’s Friday night movie review. The First Man. Biography of Neil Armstrong.

I love this movie for the way it has rewritten the narrative of the first man to walk on the moon. For the first time in a movie it shows an astronaut as being an experienced intelligent, active pilot of a space vehicle, not just some person who relies on the engineers and mission control to get him there and back. Not just a warm body that could be replaced by a monkey.

And brave, so brave, even under terrifying and deadly situations he keeps his cool, uses his experience and intelligence and keeps trying.

    4.5 hobbits

That first scene where he figures out that to re-enter the Earth’s atmosphere he had to use a wing as a blade , to present as small a surface area as possible, that showed Armstrong’s deep understanding of his task and his brilliance. I loved that so much. And him using those small jets to orient the plane was echoed in the Gemini spin, and the way he never gave up trying to stop the spin, incredible fortitude. I haven’t looked it up yet, was he flying an X2 in the first scene? It was an X-15 :) https://airandspace.si.edu/stories/editorial/neil-armstrong-and-x-15. It’s a rocket with wings, not a jet.

( I’m a bit a space fan, not a huge one but a deep enough interest to have flown to Florida from Europe just to visit Cape Canaveral. :) )

Twas an X-15 iirc, my dad is a space nerd, and he’s why I am too haha. I’m pretty sure it was an X-15. And yes, that gave me chills, like it was just so visceral, and realistic. The camera angles, up close. That scene of the fire in the Apollo 1 😱 so well done. Such an amazing film, I don’t care if it took a few liberties, it was amazing and reignited my interest in space

I have read so many tech books and so many biographies and seen so many movies and been to nasa and eaten up all the documentaries, watch launches

but this one movie changed how I thought about the role of the astronauts. I already knew they were all highly experienced test pilots and university educated but really, the pivotal role they played was never shown before, like I said, previously it was as if they were a passenger, not a pilot. :)

            Yes, amazing. :)

Finally finished Arkham Origins after god knows how many years of owning the game. I adore the Arkham series and have 100% (or 120%) every other game multiple times but I could just never get into Origins enough to play it through. Done now though! Still have the collectables and DLC content to go through but that can be another day.

Now I don’t know what to do with the rest of my weekend… hmm

Arkham Knight annoyed me the most because of all the driving. Origins was fine, but Asylum was great and City was the best by far.

Oh yeah I have a bunch of others I’ve started. I need to get away from my computer chair though I think. Might think about going for an adventure.

I actually bought and finished Detroit Become Human back when it came out. Pretty rare that I’d do that, especially back then because I didn’t play many games then. Only really started playing more when I upgraded my GPU on my PC to edit drone footage.

There’s something I haven’t done for a while… taken the drone out. Not sure how wimdy it’ll be across the state this weekend though.

I haven’t played much of Detriot but I did start the opening and not, was that rather intense for an introduction.

I liked the setting as well since it was based in the future and then there’s the whole morality and AI debate but I haven’t gotten far into it.

Tomorrow is forecasted to rain with heavy winds in the morning then calming down a bit for the rest of the day.

Not sure how viable it is to fly a drone in those sorts of weather conditions?

Am exhausted and have crawled into bed.
The cats are puzzled as I’ve been later most of this week, between the cross stitch and Zooks parking herself on me about this time of night for a snuggle and snooze.

These types have always been around. Decent odds he’s already reading these comments and feeling chuffed that’s he’s gotten to you. It’s exactly the sort of response they want. They love invoking emotional reactions in others.

What they hate is being ignored. That happens to them all the time in the real world. Online they have power. When you deny them that power, it brings home how significant they really are(n’t).

Sadly, this will just drive them to go bother someone else. But that isn’t your problem.

Even if you do maybe that’s what they’re hoping for, to provoke someone into a slinging match while they laugh at you.

Either way, good reminder that even though DT people are nice in, you never know who is silently reading it all. Stay safe and never reveal anything that could ID you in real life.

Lordy today has been a long, intense, mad day. I’m just about ready to delete my brain. So many fires to put out. Oh and somehow the confidential chat I had with my senior colleague somehow turned out to be not so confidential and there’s a long waffly email from my boss sent at 5pm on the dot that I’m not even going to bother looking at until Monday.

Only got back 20 minutes ago after yet more driving - thankfully much easier at night and with a full belly and a box of leftovers after serendipitously visiting a not particularly close auntie (I will never be too old to appreciate being sent home with a food packet like I’m still a broke uni student). And I got almost all my errands done.

And because I’ve been so behind on everything and these site visits were much more complicated than I thought, I need to work on Sunday AGAIN to get urgent deliverables across on Monday. Stg I’m going to be liberal with my timesheet so I can take next Friday off

Eep. I hope it’s not too much longer that you have to put up with that crap at work. Having trust broken is probably one the last straws when it gets back to the boss, assuming that’s what the email is about.

Sounds like you’ve had a very long day if you’ve only just gotten back home now but getting leftovers from dinner is always a treat!

Do what you need to do and if you can get away with the liberty that you’ve mentioned to free yourself up on Friday then do it! You really need deserve some time off from work.

      You’re 10 ply bud!!

Straight up I watch it with subtitle and relate to most of it.

Cheap smokes from natives is a very blue collar Canadian thing.

First nations people don’t pay tax, so you can buy smokes and booze at reserves for like 25% of normal cost. Locally procured gear only.

If you’re part of a tribe it’s even cheaper.

Some tribes require blood proof. Other tribes require $20 per year for a membership.

I may or not have been a first Nation member for a few nations despite being a honkey cracker
