There’s been a lot of nonsense in the press about this speech so I thought I’d post the actual text, so that people can make their own minds up.

Despite what some people took away from the speech, Reeves is very critical of Thatcher, saying that Nigel Lawson (Chancellor under Thatcher) was wrong both in theory and practice. She’s also critical of Brexit and, to a lesser extent, of New Labour, as well as the current government, as you might expect.

So, not continuity Thatcher, Blair or anyone else, but something new. She cites Biden’s economics more often than anyone else, so I think that’s the best reference point.

I won’t go on paraphrasing anymore because as I said I want people to read it themselves!
