“I refer to this one as ‘the big one,’” said the official, Matt Combes, an ecological health unit science supervisor for the Missouri Department of Conservation. He added: “Calling something a near-total fish kill for 60 miles of a river is astounding and disheartening.”

I live in Iowa and you see “so and so’s pig shit pond blew out in the des Moines river” every year or so in the papers. It’s never cleaned up. The farmers are still in business, sometimes under a different family members name.

Do NOT go tubing in the rivers here in the spring/summer. You will get a intestinal parasite or worse. I am speaking from experience.

That all said, Iowa is just like anywhere else. The capital has a lot of sprawl because farmers like to plan ahead and made tons of extra room compared to other metro locations. Downtown floods frequently during heavy rains, but it’s all part of the design of the city.

The strip clubs are fucking wild man. Bring your own beer and open till like 7am. Bring a case and a sober cab and you can just pay cover and hang after bar hours. our crew had a stoner that didn’t drink. It takes all kinds to make the world go round.

There is a resort just west of desmoines called racoon River resort or something. It’s a nude resort for all, but there are lots of gay dudes in the woods looking to get wild. Check it out sometime.
