    self explanatory. ethereal is something too beautiful to exist. Hooters is a restaurant with scantily dressed waitresses. that’s the joke

      I’ve never been to Hooters and I certainly am not a misogynist. I really just don’t get the joke and would love it if someone actually explained it.

        Best I can come up with is that it’s playing on the idea that people only visit Hooters because of the scantily clad servers. In this scenario, since there’s literally just apparitions serving the food, the humor comes from the absurd notion of people fervently enjoying Hooters independent of the physical attractiveness of the staff. But I’ve also never been to Hooters so who knows? Could be just a dadaist shit post. What do you think, @RainfallSonata@lemmy.world, did I get it right or am I also sexist?

      I think there are a fair amount of non-misogynists that also didn’t get it. Hooters is just awful on so many levels, from the misogynistic expectations of the waitstaff to the greasy, terrible food.
