This is why a number of Republican-controlled states have banned municipal governments from imposing workplace rules to limit heat exposure.

Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida and Gov. Greg Abbott of Texas, both Republicans, signed legislation to prevent local governments from requiring heat protections

Listen up conservatives, Republicans want your working conditions to return to the fucking hell they were before Upton Sinclair wrote The Jungle.

They’d rather you die of heat stroke at 30 than get a state or federally mandated water break but you’re too fucking stupid to realize this applies to you too and not just the minority groups you think you’re punishing every time you vote GOP. Wake the fuck up and stop voting for these vicious psychopaths. They are never going to do anything that ever helps you or serves your interests let alone those of society as a whole.

All those manufacturing jobs they keep moaning about, all those trade jobs they want people to join, all of that is affected by these cruel policies, and it means their children and grandchildren will reap the consequences.

But fuck you, got mine, amirite? /s

Marc Freedman, a vice president at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the country’s largest business lobbying group, wrote that such a rule would present huge challenges for employers and that “it is extraordinarily difficult for them to determine when heat presents a hazard because each employee experiences heat differently.” Mr. Freeman said the unpredictable nature of heat creates “a substantial barrier to efforts to determine when employees require protection.”

Won’t someone PLEASE consider the business owners?!

You’re thinking of conservatives. The cruelty isn’t the point with the chamber of commerce. Profits are the point. Anything that benefits the worker reduces profits for the capitalist.

I think you’re wrong. If they actually cared about profits, it would be easy to understand that a healthy workforce is better. But these people just enjoy inflicting misery.

Correct. Just as they expect farm animals to be treated as machinery, they expect humans to be treated as machinery – unless it’s themselves and those they deem worthy.

I said what I said, and meant it. I know what I think, and don’t need anyone to tell me otherwise.

Please don’t let anyone tell you what you’re thinking. You may or not allow them to present their views, but you are the hm, as W put t, “the decider.”

My horses have already had three generations of offspring and live miles from my ranch, do you have any advice for getting them back into my barn?
