I’m using Liftoff app, and I had to clear my storage and cache to log out.

And we would be deluding ourselves if we believed any assurances from Reddit given the track record of broken promises.

This is what bothers me the most about the mods and devs who are still bending over for spez. I’m glad the BotDefense devs have some dignity.

Exactly. On the very rare occasion I needed to hop on desktop, it felt like a totally different place. I didn’t use Reddit. I used RiF.

The cynics will be busy trying to get clicks and views by inventing reasons the NHI isn’t real. Some will think it’s holographic and fake.

The average person won’t care, or at least won’t change their daily lives or routines. Until it affects them personally, they’ll just keep carrying on.

Honestly, believers will probably do the same. I categorize myself as want-to-believe-and-am-99%-there. I will probably spend several days glued to social media, news, any source where I can learn as much as possible and chat with others. But I’ll still need to make my mortgage payment, so unless the NHI says something that changes our society, I am not sure my own daily life would change much. And that’s depressing.

I disagree. I was raised in a strongly Republican family. Fox News was perpetually on in my house, and Rush Limbaugh was a staple in the car. It took me until my 20s to start thinking for myself politically, and many years later, I now despise the Republican party and have gained the confidence to be outspoken about it. (I’m quite introverted, so that’s kind of a big deal for me.)

For example, I grew up praying in Catholic churches for an end to abortion without really understanding its need as a medical procedure. It was only through education that I learned it isn’t the horror show I had been told it is.

I’m just one person, but I know there must be more like me. People do change their views, and I hope more formerly brainwashed people like myself can be encouraged to change as well. There’s still hope. Encourage people through education, not insults.

Same for me. Pizzagate made me uneasy, but the way it changed after td was banned was enough for me to unsub and never go back.
