Started watching The Diplomat on Netflix. I’m 4 episodes in and it’s ok but why is everyone so useless other than the Americans?
It’s quite off-putting.
Why would Norris go from being team leader to Marko’s punching bag?
To win races and compete at the front of the grid. Being a team leader of an average and inconsistent McLaren team is unlikely to win him anything beyond a few odd podium trophies per season.
Not next year, no.
If he gets a new contract and has a good 2024 (comfortably beats the competition etc.) then he might have a shot for 2025.
Perez was sitting stationary for around 8mins (you could argue 10min+ given he didn’t box after the red flag). Sargeant for around 7 minutes. I don’t think either had any tyre temp and yet Sargeat got out of q1.
Perez was suggesting yesterday that it’s the conditions which he doesn’t like. 4 of the last 5 quali’s have been wet I think.
I’m still unconvinced by him tbh. He has clearly improved a lot but I’m not sure he’s good enough for Red Bull. If he keeps improving then he might get a chance at some point though.
If I had to guess I’d say:
2024: Verstappen and Perez 2025: Verstappen and Tsunoda/Ricciardo/Lawson 2026: Verstappen and Norris (long term)
Not a great sign for Tsunoda either.
It had to be. There was almost nothing left in the car. I get the feeling the FIA wil be testing the car frequently for underfueling now. Looks a bit dodgy for Alfa
Unbelievable. Just nowhere in quali
Dont know if its a general lemmy thing but when I upvote a post and then click the post my upvote often disappears. Same when you upvote inside the post and then back out of a post onto the main feed.
Liftoff is there too. I like Jerboa but I felt there were too many bugs/crashes just now. Liftoff isn’t the best looking but its the most dependable imo.
Yeah, it was a bit bold. In the predictor that I do I went Ver, Per, Ham.
It was expected that Mercedes would be better this weekend due to the high speed nature of the track. I still think Russell will be around 3/4/5.
Where Perez finishes mainly depends on his qualifying. He can relax a bit and accept qualifying 2/3/4 or push like crazy for pole with the massive risk of being out in q2.
Would like to see the long run pace analysis.
Yeah, there’s clearly potential there.
He’s avoided the constant errors that you often see from rookie or 2nd season drivers (Yuki, Mick Schu and de Vries being the recent examples). Think he’s only had one (?) major crash this season which was in the wet in Canada.
From what we’ve seen in F1 so far he deserves a shot in a faster car one day.
Given how significant the changes are for 2026 I don’t think they will begin a mile behind. Everyone will be starting fresh and as Horner says in the article, everyone in the building is focused on 2026 without distractions.
My predictions for the race:
1.VER 2. RUS 3. HAM
Good performance: Piastri in the points
Bad performance: Stroll out of the points
I think one user posted most of the posters but not 100%.
Yeah. I think this is a good solution. It’s then up to the user to decide if they want to combine or not.
Just saw that some apps do have a search function already. I’ve been using Jerboa and it doesn’t have one yet (for posts/comments that is).
Thanks
Apologies if this is a repeat question. I’m not entirely sure if there is a way to search in Jerboa for similar posts but I don’t think there.
I think I need to learn how to crosspost in Jerboa.
I don’t really get the point about power mods. Why would you not create the alternative community at the time the mod starts to becomes a problem?
Isn’t creating an alternative community at the beginning when the mods are fine kind of unnecessary and just causing a split?
So on the same day that Tuchel says we can’t discuss Kane, the Bayern president decides to openly talk about…Kane.
Don’t think this will help Bayern much tbh.
