    It can have effects on public sentiment which can influence leadership’s behavior. I would argue this has already happened to a notable degree.

      Yeah Gen Z has hard time understanding why we blank checm support Israel doing genocide…

      I guess they need more Holocaust history classes to fix that!

        Ironically I think learning deeply about the holocaust is a big contribution to my outspoken opposition to mass killings of civilians, such as by the IDF. If you are able to study history and see the overall patterns of violence and oppression then you will be more likely to speak out when you see the same patterns. Even if the perpetrators are the descendants of former victims.

          Somebody learned the right lessons or maybe all of genz did… Prior generations learned that genocide is fine as long as my team is doing it? Good to see some change finally coming 80 years later.

            Well, maybe. I should note that most of my history education was self-directed using the internet. Almost none of it was through schooling. But perhaps that explains the generational divide.
