some criminals are aided by the fact that they’re so ass-ugly, nobody can stand to look at them for long enough to recognize them from a wanted poster. just a split-second to notice that everything above the neck looks like an exploded baby’s diaper, and you’re staring at the floor.

Came here to say the same.

The FBI affidavit in Knight’s Jan. 6 case says he has “several distinctive tattoos, including one under his left eye … and what appears to be the emblem of the Cadillac car company on his neck.”

But, then again, people often mistake the Honda Civic tattoo on my neck for other cars, so it must be rough ruling us out.

(I have no tattoos on my neck. Learn to internet.)

Well that’s an unfortunately worded headline. “dreaded” as in the noun, of having dreadlocks. Not “dreaded” as in the adjective, regarded with great fear. Although this does spark an interesting thought. Apparently dreadlocks originated from the English invaders in the colonial world, as they encountered native tribes with “dreadful” hair.

The sedition hunters have been after them for 3 years. You saying they’re also right-wingers who don’t show enough interest?

The FBI launched the largest investigation in their history. Think they’re holding back?

FFS, they found him in South Dakota. There’s 343 people farming corn and tending, uh, whatever animals they can grow in that wasteland.

I applaud them for tracking them down. I just wonder if these terrorists had been left of center (or were Muslim, or POC) if they would have been permitted to make all their plans out in the open for months in advance, then carry them out, then scamper off with no one detaining them…

But because they are who they are, this was allowed to fester and be planned - again, OSINT definitely saw all this - and no extra security was done, and none called in during, and it seems like they get slaps on the wrist when they are tracked down.

        It’s all very suspect, yes.

I thought that too, but then if someone gave me a picture of a random face it might take me a while to find them, especially if they don’t have a publicly facing social media account with their face all over it.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

WASHINGTON — A Jan. 6 participant whose dreaded blonde locks and face tattoos made him a memorable face in the pro-Trump mob has been arrested in South Dakota, the FBI said, accusing him of shoving an officer during the Capitol melee after “ramming” a giant metal-framed “TRUMP” sign into a line of police officers.

Footage compiled by “sedition hunters” who have aided the FBI in hundreds of cases against Capitol rioters shows the man identified as Knight was one of the first people to breach the initial barriers at the Capitol and shows him ripping away police barricades as the mob confronted officers.

Video shows the same man aggressively confronting law enforcement, at one point rushing towards the police line with an extended flag pole and then smashing it on the concrete in front of officers.

That man was initially dubbed “Dreaded Proud Boy” by online sleuths due to his hairstyle and proximity to members of the far-right organization during the initial breach of the Capitol grounds, but federal prosecutors did not present any evidence to connect Knight to the organization.

Footage from before the Capitol attack also shows the man identified as Knight banging on glass near the Washington Monument after officers took another man into custody near the Trump rally on the Ellipse, where the election-denying former president told the mob to “fight like hell” or they wouldn’t have a country anymore.

The FBI affidavit in Knight’s Jan. 6 case says he has “several distinctive tattoos, including one under his left eye … and what appears to be the emblem of the Cadillac car company on his neck.”

Oh look. The scapegoat that is going to get a real sentence. He looks the part, so no slaps on the wrist for him.

To be clear, they should all get heavy sentences like this guy is going to get.

I think they should rather get the sentences that best fit the actual crimes they committed, you know, like in a country of law?

Yes, that was the problem I was implying. Most of these insurrectionists have gotten slaps on the wrist because they’re good ole boys. A few months for being caught in the capitol building. A few years for being caught assaulting police. What was it, 17 years or so for being the leader of proudboys that organized the violent plot?

I know some of those are a bit off, but the point I made was that it’s likely this guy will get real consequences because of his appearance, while all these other pieces of shit got very little time for their actions.
