And even suggests bone density is the same too despite what transphobes have been claiming here on lemmy lately…

Transgender women’s bone density was found to be equivalent to that of cisgender women, which is linked to muscle strength.

IOC funded, but they were happy enough to throw us under the bus with their last trans inclusion policy, so I don’t see this making any difference. They’re not interested in science or fairness, they’re interested in not rocking the boat

    a) no shit there’s numerous health related reasons women often don’t like taking hormonal birth control, and testosterone isn’t exactly a magic health potion either.

    b) I really feel like this is how I specifically learned how to escape quicksand from multiple popular/kids media sources as a child but have never actually practically run into it in adulthood.

Quite refreshing that this article was published by Forbes. Even tho I think more studies need to be made, I would argue that it’s public perception that needs changing. Public perception is not necessarily influenced by science, if that was the case we would be living in different societies worldwide. I think public perception is more influenced by the existing narratives, and we have a saying on them. Maybe among other things, we might need to start asking different/new questions?

Idk man its still unfair in all directions, trans people should get their own competition to keep it fair, and there is nothing transpobic about it.

Let the stammering retroactive qualifications by transphobes to explain away their chronic ignorance begin!

Shame the comment section is full of people pre-emptively attacking anyone that might not agree with their own opinions.

Thought there’d be people open to discussing the article, guess it’s not a whole lot different than Reddit or 4chan.

“Might not agree with their opinion” i.e repeating claims not grounded in actual data

EDIT: also worth mentioning the account this comment is replying to is only 7 days old which raises some suspicions there

Yeah, and calling them transphobes as if that’s the only motivation anyone has to be worried about this stuff.

I’m running an experiment where I just ruthlessly block every single user demonstrating that kind of behaviour. Hopefully one day I’ll have a really slow feed consisting of only the handful of people left that don’t act like a total jerks despite being anonymous.
