Yeah, I think Matrix would be better, but I am fine with it. Maybe you have other suggestions?
I replied on other thread request for joining. I’d also suggest using something other than discord(for many reasons), XMPP worked fine for other groups I’m part of, matrix had some issues but still kinda works. IRC is good but is most difficulty technicaly.
XMPP is pretty mature, groupchat works and clients are available for all major platforms. Conversations(andorid), Gajim/Dino(Linux, Windows), Monal(iOS) etc.
I think any other suggestion might alienate or make it harder for people to join, and they may come with their own caveats, even Matrix might be too much for some. I was thinking IRC maybe but that is probably too far for most. Discord does seem like the safe option.
