    Basically, FIDE are saying trans women are not women, and also, transmen aren’t women either, which is paradoxical.

    Both can still play in open tournaments presenting as their gender provided their government Id says they’re whatever gender.

    Unsure what happens when someone transitions before they register with fide.

      Why does this even matter? I don’t understand why tournaments are segregated. Chess isn’t a physical sport, it’s a strategy game, and neither sex has an advantage.

        They are not segregated, I explained all this in the linked post.

        Women can choose between women only and open events, men only compete in open events that women can choose to enter.
