Actually, while high preformance vents can help, they can’t get everything, or even enough to make it safe.

After working in a restaurant with gas grills and burners for years: I agree that we need to ditch them

That shit wastes so much energy and pollutes like hell

If you actually cook in restaurants you know damn well gas is not leaving anytime soon

In a lot of countries the government picks up a chunk of the cost. The US included.

I can’t afford to heat my home any more because of a forced transition from affordable gas to expensive electricity, I’d rather not be forced to also no longer be able to afford to cook, thank you.

Funny thing is, I’m all for an eventual switch away from gas, it makes sense on every level, just not until it becomes something I can actually afford.

As much as I love being green and fighting climate change, and I do my part where I can, I first need to look out for my family and ensure that we can stay warm in the winter and cook food year round.

Right. Here in California PG&E is ripping us off for electricity more and more every year. I am absolutely not going to trap myself into using only electricity, trapping me in their monopoly.

      Lol what.

I don’t think I’ve seen that happen anywhere. People switching home heating are installing heat pumps, which move more energy than they consume, which typically more than makes up for the cost difference.

I also don’t think I’ve seen anywhere do a forced switch yet, though Basel has one in the works

      This is just trolling
