“This so-called racist nation is the same one that gave Black Americans their own exclusive water fountains.”

Whew. Some of these sound a little too much like things that have actually been said, like:

“We gave them jobs, didn’t we?”

      This is my fave:

I literally heard these exact words once: “we gave them equality and it wasn’t enough”. Yup.

My response was ‘they were equals before, we didn’t give them anything.’ and all i got in response was a strong signal that the conversation was over

Not to mention “ Slavery was good for Black people”. Nothing boils my blood more than this sentence.

Most of our mass shooters target very diverse crowds of innocent people

Got a double play with that one.

As an indigenous Canadian … I’ve actually heard a variation of this one before

“I’ve never faced any discrimination for being 3% Cherokee.”

I’ve heard “why can’t these people just get their shit together? Their land was taken hundreds of years ago!” Meanwhile the mentally ill 40 year old native guy down the street was raped and abused in residential schools, and was taken from his family and community.

Too many Canadians think the trauma inflicted on first Nations people happened a long time ago and wonder why they’re so fucked up to this day. They don’t realize this residential school shit JUST ended and the anti first nations racism is still rampant

You know, come to think of it, I never have met a slave before. Case closed, our white hands are clean (obviously).

Reminds me of my white, wealthy, old, female neighbor who tells my dark ass that cops are good guys cause they’ve always treated HER well.
