I like that they investigated his representation rather than replacing them.

“We’ve confirmed his lawyers suck” was the extent of it I guess…

Then there’s Trump’s short-lived revenge lawsuit in Florida against his one-time consigliere, Michael Cohen

Cohen wasn’t the consigliere. The consigliere stands outside the hierarchy, and so can argue with the boss or otherwise violate the strict mafia code of authoritarianism without it being a problem. It’s actually a really good system; it lets you maintain very strict authority in your mafia system, while solving that problem that people like Putin or Trump have where if you get rid of everyone who disagrees with you, you’re eventually surrounded by fools and liars and no one else.

From what I heard of the tapes of Cohen talking with Trump privately, I’d be surprised if he argued with Trump much if at all, and it doesn’t sound like Trump respected his input. I would call Cohen a hatchet-man. I don’t think Trump has enough awareness to want someone around who’s going to be straight with him at any time, let alone all the time as their official role.

Only someone prophetically stupid would agree to represent someone who is known for bailing on paying his debts.

The only reason someone would agree to it at this point is purely for publicity. Our culture has somehow tied self-worth to how much celebrity one has. It’s why “influencers” are a thing when they offer nothing of value to society. It’s also why you see so many videos on social media of someone just pointing at some text and playing a video they didn’t make. Or the people lip syncing… It’s all one big fucking talent show and no one wants you to look behind the curtain.
