I doubt this will move the needle. Ultimately TikTok was not built for news & politics specifically, and it seems like a robust fact-checking system would lead to less engagement overall. So it’s at odds with their primary objective

Computer-generated translations are often very bad compared to human ones, and image recognition adds another layer of complexity that will very likely lack nuance. It could create a false sense of accessibility with bad alt-text, and could make it more difficult to spot real alt-text if it isn’t being tagged or labeled as AI generated

Not at all: any company that wants to operate in a given country, has to follow that country’s laws, whether they like them or not.

As far as the survival aspects go I prefer Frostpunk. Though that’s not as replayable. Both are quite solid and come highly recommended

Just to clarify, Ente supports iOS and Android, and has a web portal for desktop access. I also see on their README: “For adding or managing your secrets, please use our mobile app.” So the web portal only seems to provide read-only access. That’s very different than a native desktop app like Authy used to support.

IMO, if you’re going to expose your 2FA to the internet, you might as well go all-in on an internet-based solution. If you’re in the market for that, there’s plenty of options. A lot of the password managers support 2FA now (Bitwarden, Proton Pass, 1Password). If you don’t want your passwords and 2FA stored in the same place, you could use one manager to keep passwords and another for 2FA.

If you want more privacy-oriented options…

• KeePass or KeePassXC with a syncing service like Syncthing or Nextcloud
• Keeweb (no updates in 2 years, looking for a new maintainer)

Welp, that sucks. I guess maybe if Notion veers into privacy that’d be a win, but difficult to see that future. Their new “Notion Calendar” requires Google Calendar.
