@Yikal das Jelly war dann sogar mir doch zu klein, aber ich habe mir nun ein gebrauchtes Cubot Mini 2 angelacht und darauf ein #LineageOS20 #GSI installieren können. @KISSmyOS
Das Cubot hat ein 4 Zoll-Display und ist 119 x 58mm groß. Hier gibt es einen Erfahrungsbericht von jemandem, der (ein anderes) GSI auf das Cubot Mini 2 Pro geflasht hat, der u.a. auf diese Anleitung verweist.
Nach der bin ich auch vorgegangen und habe es erfolgreich flashen können. Ob wirklich alle Funktionen laufen, muss ich die Tage noch mal genauer durchchecken.

@Kurt das stimmt. Google-Dienste brauche ich persönlich nicht, auch kein MicroG. Klar, dass es irgendwann an die Grenzen kommt mit den alten Geräten. Einige müssen auch repartioniert werden für neuere Android-Versionen, was die Sache noch mal komplizierter macht.
Gerade deswegen so schade, dass es so gut wie gar keine kleineren Geräte mehr gibt aus den letzten 5-6 Jahren. Sicher ist die Nachfrage nicht riesig… aber (fast) gar nix?

@Lemmchen die Antwort kam jetzt hier 7x an. Liegt wahrscheinlich an einem Serverausfall bei Feddit. Bitte die restlichen bei Gelegenheit wieder löschen, wenn es wieder läuft.

@Lemmchen ahja, danke. Die Seite kannte ich auch im Prinzip, es gibt irgendwie ziemlich viele Device-Übersichten für #LineageOS , aber hier kann u.a. nach “Display Size” gefiltert werden 👍 . Demnach gibt es tatsächlich nur noch zwei Geräte mit 5 Zoll (wie o.g. Pixel2 und das Sony XZ2 Compact) sowie fünf weitere mit 5,2 Zoll, die offiziell unterstützt werden.

Irgendwann hatte ich auch mal eine Überblick für inoffizielle Builds gefunden, finde es nun aber nicht wieder (bzw. nur für alte #LOS oder #eOS-Versionen). Ist ziemlich mühsam, sich da jeweils einzeln durchs xda-Forum zu wühlen…

@Yikal 🤩 ja, danke super Tipp! Für andere Unihertz-Geräte scheint es auch zumindest zum Teil inoffizielle Builds zu geben, bspw. LOS für Jelly 2

@caos @caos @jeze Small minus point for #Sharkey: the federation with #Lemmy is better from #Mastodon (it’s best with #Friendica (= this account)). This answer from Sharkey, for example, has not been received yet.

@JerukPurut404 Yes, if you want to use Google apps, you should leave it on. With the #UniversalAndroidDebloater, there are different levels of how much you want to delete/deactivate. With the first two, it only affects apps that you can easily reinstall if necessary.

@Blaze @caos The federation between Firefish and Lemmy is problematic. According to a #Firefish admin, this is because Firefish requires “Authorised Fetch”, which #Lemmy has not implemented correctly. Here from Friendica it works fine.

@Ninguem It is a kind of forum, but not quite as structured. The special thing for me is that it is part of the Fediverse. For me, it is a platform that offers a topic-centred access to the Fediverse. It follows a different logic than microblogging services like Mastodon, which are account-centred and in which the content has to be structured by the individual users via lists, hashtags, antennas and the like.
It is possible to interact with Lemmy content from Mastodon etc. and also to create posts in Lemmy communities (I’m replying here from #Friendica)). But with Lemmy account (which I also have) the content is of course even better structured. But it is not quite as structured as in a classic forum.

@Hedup Anyone who opens a #Lemmy community (or #kbin)) should check in advance whether there is already one on the same topic. Most of the existing ones can be found here via this search function: browse.feddit.de/browse.feddit.de/.
If there is already a community, you can see or ask the moderators how it is organised (e.g. rules) and if it suits you, perhaps help out as an additional moderator. But maybe the orientation is different and then more than one community would make sense.

@President_Pyrus @SmugBedBug It is not necessary that everyone who uses #Lemmy has to be a Lemmy user. Thanks to the #Fediverse , everyone from Mastodon, Misskey, etc. can also participate in Lemmy content (also post in communities, just don’t create your own communities). For example, I am currently replying from Friendica. The circle of people is much, much larger, so it’s not a problem if Lemmy lacks people.

I don’t have any experience with #Reddit or similar, but rather like that it’s a kind of forum where the content is a bit more sorted than in the micro-/macroblogging software. Nevertheless, everyone with accounts from #Misskey, #Mastodon, #Friendica, #Hubzilla etc. can also comment and create posts in #Lemmy communities. So the circle of users is much larger than just Lemmy alone.
