I’m wanting to do a few camping trips with friends and I’m also going back to school for a second degree! It’s gonna be packed, but I really wanna get outside more this summer, before the smoke rolls in. Do y’all have any fun plans?

    I suspect a lot of folks might not think of this as “fun” but I’m hoping to hike another 300 miles or so by September, on my way to 1,000 (planned!) for the year. Currently I’ve put in about 525 miles for 2023, all on trails within easy driving distance of southwestern Indiana. Tomorrow I’m off to the One Horse Gap trail system in Illinois for another 25 or 30 as an overnighter.

      Backpacking is so fun! I just moved and can’t wait to go Backpacking again, now that I’m living in a state that won’t be cooking half the year!

        I’m usually of the school that says “there is no bad weather to be outside, just wrong clothing choices”…but it certainly gets much more challenging in extreme heat or cold! Whereabouts did you end up, if you don’t mind me asking? Any trails you’ve got an eye on?

          I moved to Washington! I’d like to hit Olympus NP and do the blue glacier again, but I’m not sure if I’ll have a week off- going back to school while working! Might have to be a future thing instead…

            Ah, awesome. We’re hoping to move from Indiana to Oregon (Willamette Valley, probably Eugene) next summer. I’m already starting to look forward to the increasing trail possibilities (and to think about new challenges, like snow traction and bears).
