      The standard on hate crimes can be really absurd in a lot of states, and some states don’t even have hate crime legislation, Utah only briefly consider haven’t hate crime laws after a black man attacked a Hispanic man with clear racial motive. They never realized it could be used against non white people, really changed their stance.
